Family Fishing Charters

Pensacola Fishing Charters: Frequently Asked Questions 1. How much does a Pensacola fishing charter cost? Our fishing charter rates depend on the duration of the trip (half-day vs. full-day) and whether you choose an inshore, deep-sea, or offshore fishing trip. All prices include your fishing licenses, top-tier bait and tackle, ice, and fuel. For current, up-to-date pricing on all available options, please review our detailed rate table above. 2. Are family fishing charters available?Yes! We specialize in family fishing trips and welcome anglers of all ages and skill levels. Captain Al and the crew provide personalized, patient coaching for children and beginners to ensure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and successful on the water. 3. What is the best time for deep sea fishing in Pensacola?Deep sea fishing is productive year-round in the Gulf of Mexico, but the "best" time depends on what you want to catch. Spring and summer bring peak seasons for highly prized species like Red Snapper and Mahi-Mahi. Fall and winter offer incredible action for Grouper, Amberjack, and various inshore species. 4. What is the difference between offshore and inshore fishing?Inshore fishing takes place in calmer, protected waters like Big Lagoon and Pensacola Bay, targeting species like Redfish and Trout using lighter tackle—perfect for families and shorter trips. Offshore and deep sea fishing trips venture out into the open Gulf of Mexico to target larger reef and pelagic fish like Snapper, Grouper, and Mackerel. 5. What fish can I catch offshore in Pensacola? Our offshore fishing charters target a diverse range of powerful saltwater species. Depending on the time of year and federal regulations, your primary targets include Red Snapper, Greater Amberjack, Goliath Grouper, King Mackerel, Grey Triggerfish, and Cobia. 6. How many people can fish on the charter? Our private fishing charters are restricted to a maximum capacity to ensure guest safety, comfort, and plenty of individual fishing room at the rail. Please check our specific trip listings above for maximum passenger counts per boat, or contact us directly if you are organizing a multi-boat corporate trip. 7. What should I bring on my fishing trip?We provide all the necessary fishing gear, bait, tackle, and ice. You only need to bring your preferred food and drinks (cans preferred over glass), sunscreen (non-spray), polarized sunglasses, a hat, and a camera. We recommend wearing light, layered clothing and non-marking, closed-toe shoes. 8. Do you clean the fish after the trip?Yes, absolutely! Complimentary fish cleaning and bagging at the docks is included with every single charter. Once we return to the marina, Captain Al and the crew will professionally filet and bag your legal keepers so they are completely ready to cook or freeze.
