Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – Fishing Info

Find clarity on your upcoming trip with our comprehensive Pensacola fishing charter answers, designed to address every detail regarding pricing, safety regulations, and what is included in your private booking.

What’s included in a private fishing charter with Reel Bandit Charters?

Every private trip with us is completely full-service. Your booking covers all required Florida saltwater fishing licenses, premium fuel, custom tackle, rods, reels, and high-quality live or cut bait. We also provide a professional first mate to assist you on deck and a large cooler stocked with ice to keep your personal drinks and eventual catches perfectly chilled.

How much does a full-day fishing charter cost in Pensacola, Florida?

Our private full-day guided fishing trip in Pensacola (8 hours of offshore and deep-sea fishing) starts at $1,550.00 for up to 6 anglers. If you are looking for shorter durations, we also offer a 4-hour half-day morning or afternoon trip starting at $950.00, and an extended 6-hour half-day trip starting at $1,200.00.

Where in Pensacola do we meet our guests?

We meet at Pensacola Boat Launch ( Sinton Dr, Florida 32507, USA )

Do I need to bring my own fishing gear when booking with Reel Bandit Charters?

No, you do not need to bring any personal fishing equipment. We fully equip our 30-foot Shamrock Express with top-tier, heavy-duty rod and reel setups tailored specifically to the exact species we are targeting that day. However, if you have a favorite, lucky rod you prefer to use for nearshore or reef dropping, you are more than welcome to bring it along.

Is complimentary fish cleaning and filleting included in the fishing trip?

Yes, professional fish cleaning, filleting, and bagging at the docks are completely included with every single charter at no additional charge. Once Captain Al steers the vessel back to the marina, our crew will skillfully process all of your legal keepers so they are clean, packaged, and completely ready to be taken to a local cook-your-catch restaurant or packed into your freezer.

What is the best time of year to fish the coastal waters of Pensacola?

Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico is highly productive year-round, but your ideal booking window depends on your target species. The late spring and summer months (May through July) are legendary for the federal Red Snapper season and surface pelagics like King Mackerel. The autumn and winter months offer cooler weather and phenomenal bottom-fishing for Grouper, Amberjack, and heavy reef fish, alongside active inshore redfish runs.

How many people can join a private excursion with Reel Bandit Charters in Pensacola?

Our specialized offshore fishing vessel comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests per trip. This passenger limit ensures maximum safety, structural comfort, and plenty of individual rail space for everyone to fish simultaneously without tangling lines. Because our trips are strictly private, your group will have exclusive access to Captain Al Bednar and the first mate for personalized coaching.

What personal items should our family bring along for our Pensacola fishing trip?

To ensure your group stays comfortable on the water, we recommend packing your preferred food and drinks (aluminum cans or plastic bottles are highly preferred over glass), high-factor sunscreen (non-spray formulas only, as spray makes the deck slippery), polarized sunglasses, a hat, and a camera. We suggest wearing light, layered clothing and non-marking, flat-soled shoes.

How do I book a private trip to target local fish with Reel Bandit Charters?

Securing your calendar date is simple, direct, and can be completed entirely online. Navigate straight to our primary Trips & Rates Page to view our real-time availability calendar. Select your preferred half-day, extended, or full-day block, place your reservation deposit securely online, and Captain Al Bednar will contact you directly to finalize your target species and departure details.
